June 2004
Red dirt road.
Time rolls on no matter what we do.
We can have a look around, or roll on, too.
I’ve seen and done all that’s here.
The path I’ll take is very clear.
I’m ready for a red dirt road
To take me past the field’s I’ve sewed.
I can steer through turns and bends,
I’ll decide where it ends.
I’m ready for a red dirt road.
The best laid plans of mice and men -
Sometimes we lose but strive to win.
Life runs hot, and life runs cold,
But I can’t put my life on hold.
I’m ready for a red dirt road
To take me past the field’s I’ve sewed.
I can steer through turns and bends,
I’ll decide where it ends.
I’m ready for a red dirt road.
There’s more to this than what I’ve seen
Beyond the hills at the valley’s end.
But should I change and be so bold?
The answer lies on the red dirt road.
I’m ready for a red dirt road
To take me past the field’s I’ve sewed.
I can steer through turns and bends,
I’ll decide where it ends.
I’m ready for a red dirt road.
